1st Paper Presentation

Smoking in Campus Area Should Be Strictly Prohibited by the College

Nowadays, there are many students smoke in campus area. Every time I am in campus, I see many smokers who smoke in my campus. Some of them are my classmates and they smoke at some spots in campus such as at canteen, in front of class, and other spots. Sometimes, I ask to myself, is this a campus? It is because I see the smoke of cigarette everywhere. It forces me inhale the smoke too although I do not want to it. As we all know, cigarette contains more than four thousand substances and two thousand of them have been declared that the impact is not good for our health. The smoke is very annoying. It disturbs other people in campus who do not smoke because it pollutes the air.

Surely, we all know that cigarette smoke pollutes the air in campus. It is very annoying when I come to campus in the morning and I hope that I get fresh air but suddenly my friends come with their cigarette. I think they steal my human right to get the fresh air since it is very difficult to get it nowdays. When the air in campus is polluted by cigarette smoke, I have a bad mood to study. It maybe happens to other students. For information, a place filled with cigarette smoke is a more dangerous place than pollution in a traffic jam. One of my friends feels like vomiting when she inhales the cigarette smoke. A study revealed that air pollution caused by cigarette smoke is ten times more than the pollution caused by diesel engines. One important thing is the smoke produced by a smoker, 15% inhaled by smokers (current smokers) itself, while 85% is inhaled by people around them (passive smokers). It is a crime, isn’t it?

What Do You Think about Paper Presentation Class?

There are some opinions of mine about the class of Paper Presentation. At first, I thought Paper Presentation would not be an easy lecture for most of us, and it was true. In this class we had to explain about our opinions about something then wrote them down as a paper. The difficult thing to do for me was defending my opinions by giving good argumentations. I was afraid when Mrs. Erlina asked something about my opinion. I was afraid that I could not defend my opinion. Presenting my slides in front of the class was also my difficult part in this subject. I had to control my attitude in order to hide my terrible feeling; nervous. This was the first subject that forced me to present my opinions by showing some slides in front of the class alone. It was difficult because it had to be interesting. This subject has made me braver to speak in front of many people.

I love the way Mrs. Erlina taught us and guided us how to present a good topic in front of the class. As a beginner on presenting, I am very thankful to be given Mrs. Erlina as my lecturer. She taught us one by one about making paper and presenting. She was very friendly in the class and if I did something wrong, she told me kindly. I did not feel she was angry with me because when I was wrong, she told me softly about my mistakes. I was very comfort to be in her class. She told that this class is like a preparation before Debating Class and I am sure that we are more ready to face Debating Class after we got this class. My friends in other class who got different lecturer did not do like we have done in this class. They only made a composition about given topic in 200-250 words then they told what had been written only in front of the lecturer without slides. They did repeatedly every 2 weeks. I think it was very different with this class. It was like Spoken class in 2nd semester. I was very lucky to be in this class and got more knowledge.

AH SENENG BANGET POKOKNYA

Gowes

Kalau lagi balik ke Tangerang tuh paling sering dan paling seneng ketemu temen-temen SMP; Debby, Ari, Ike sama Della. Della kayanya yang paling sering absen kalau ada acara kumpul-kumpul soalnya dia yang paling jauh kuliahnya dan jarang pulang. Dia kuliah di UNDIP. Sebenernya Ari juga jauh sih tapi dia sering banget pulang hahah. Ari di UNSOED. Yang paling gampang di ketemu Ike sama Debby yang kuliahnya deket; STAN dan Mercu. Kemarin hari Sabtu gue yang baru nyampe rumah udah pergi lagi aja. Udah janjian ketemuan kita mumpung Ari juga pulang. Ketemuan di tempat biasa, 88.

Kita paling ga puas kalau ketemuan cuma bentar. Kita bikin rencana lagi besoknya mau pergi tapi bingung banget mau kemana. Mal basi banget. Mau ke Ragusa tapi Ari ga mau. Mau ice skate, Ari juga ga mau. Tadinya mau ke JGTC soalnya si Ike emang udah rencana ke sana sama si Azim tapi gue, Debby, sama Ari ga suka jazz. Sampai akhirnya gue bilang kita gowes pagi-pagi yang selain sehat juga murah :D

Pada setuju dan antusias banget tapi masalahnya sekarang adalah gimana caranya Debby bisa nyampe puspem dari rumahnya yang di Warung Mangga. Warung Mangga ke puspem itu jauh bangeeeet sumpah tapi berkat niat bersama, akhirnya kesampean juga ita gowes hari Minggu kemarin. Masalah selanjutnya adalah si Ari ga ada sepedah. Dia bilang sepedah yang ada di rumahnya cuma sepeda Gita Gutawa lengkap dengan keranjang di depannya HAHAHA. Udah gitu, pas nyampe rumah sepedahnya kempes dan ga ada pompa. Sepedah Ike juga sama dan mirisnya kalau sepedah Ike harus dibawa ke bengkel dulu. Hampir batal deh rencana kita. Alhamdulillahnya kita tetep jadi tanpa Ike. Ari pagi-pagi banget udah ke pom bensin, isi angin.

Itu waktu Dwita minta kunci jawaban soal-soal toefl yang dibahas di kelas Reading Texts for Variuos Modes sama Tammy karena gue sama Wita udah mudik ke Tangerang pas minggu itu. Bener-bener kaya contekkan ya. #seranganfajar

Kalo ga konyol ya bukan Raditya Dika namanya. Eh tapi bener juga sih Dikung ngeretweet kaya gitu. Setiap baca tweet itu pasti ngakak :D

Campus VS High School

Gue bukanlah mahasiswi yang aktif di kampus dan dengan sangat yakin gue mengelompokkan diri gue sendiri ke dalam kategori mahasiswi yang pasif di hampir semua acara kampus. Kalau ada acaranya dan melibatkan semua angkatan, jangankan dateng, tau aja engga dan parahnya, mau tau aja gue engga. I don't know why, campus for me is just a place from which I get knowledge. Dari awal aja gue udah ga ada bakat banget bakal aktif di kampus karena terbukti dengan gue absen di ospek fakultas, PFS (Pengenalan Fakultas Sastra). Gue cuma dateng beberapa kali dan kesananya udah males. Acaranya, menurut gue ga seru banget. Sorry, I have to say that it was boring for most of us. Ga ada daya tariknya sama sekali buat ngikutin acara itu sampe akhir dan tapi mungkin buat beberapa orang yang semangat dateng, Adin adalah salah satu alasannya. Buat gue? engga sama sekali! Dan yang kedua adalah GATES. Ini acara jurusan yang pada awalnya gue terpukau banget sama acara keluarga besar jurusan gue menyambut keluarga barunya tapi kesininya heeeem. Udah lah ya yang ini mah ga usah dibahas. Tiba-tiba pegel aja jari gue ngetiknya :D

Ya itu sekilas aja tentang beberapa hal yang menunjukkan betapa ga aktifnya gue di kampus. Banyak juga acara-acara lain di fakultas dan jurusan gue yang lagi open recruitment buat kepanitiaannya dan lagi-lagi gue ga tertarik, lebih mirisnya lagi, gue pun ga dateng ke acaranya di hari H. Kalau acara universitas? Jangan ditanya deh, lebih-lebih engga banget itu mah.

Ini beda banget sama dulu yang buat gue sekolah, terutama SMA yang adalah tempat di mana gue ga cuma dapet ilmu yang entah berguna apa ga tapi juga dapet banyak anggota keluarga baru yang pasti berguna kini dan nanti :) Kenapa? Karena gue sangat aktif di SMA. Boleh ya gue ketik ulang dengan huruf kapital. GUE SANGAT AKTIF DI SMA. Pertama, gue ikut ekskul yang punya pengaruh gede di sekolah gue, Paskibra. Kenapa Paskib punya pengaruh gede? Karena sebagian besar pengurus OSIS/MPK berasal dari ekskul yang bikin gue item geseng kaya sekarang ini. Ini kaya semacam monopoli gitu sih. Jadi, kalau ada acara yang melibatkan banyak ekskul pasti Paskib di-nomor-satu-kan seperti pas acara demo ekskul di acara MBS (Masa Bimbingan Siswa). Paskibra tampil pertama terus! Hahah

Kedua, gue adalah pengurus OSIS selama 2 periode yang membuat gue ga pernah absen dalam kegiatan apapun yang diadain di sekolah gue. OSIS seperti yang kita ketahui bersama *tsaah* adalah organisasi yang megang semua kegiatan siswa di sekolah. Ya kalau ada acara apa-apa pasti ikut serta dong gue. Gue di OSIS juga cukup vokal terbukti dengan kepilihnya gue jadi ketua pensi. Yang ini agak ga penting dan cuma jadi ajang pamer aja sih hahah. Dari acara reuni akbar, 17an, MBS, LDK, pensi, MIPA, Idul Qurban, graduation, pelantikan ekskul, seminar-seminar, dan lain-lain gue terlibat! Malah kadang tujuan gue sekolah buat ngurus acara-acara gituan lebih besar daripada tujuan untuk belajar. Di sekolah gue, anak-anaknya terbuka, asik, dan menerima. Kalau di kampus, gue ngeliatnya acara itu tertutup dan hanya untuk kalangan tertentu padahal acara ini terbuka untuk semua angkatan. Atau guenya yang menutup diri? Di sekolah gue, anaknya asik-asik, ga ada yang 'sok'. Mereka ga sok asik kaya yang heeem.
