Plagiarism
Writing is one of activities in people’s life nowdays. Writing is the representation of language in a textual medium through the use of a set of signs or symbols (Wikipedia, 2011c). Many people get much money by being a writer. Many successful writers begin their carier in writing from their hobby. Writing is a hobby that can be a job. Many of them have made a lot of great writings. I think it’s not easy to be a great writer and have a lot of masterpieces. It is needed a lot of practices to be a great writer. To be a great writing, we have to obey some rules when we are going to write something.
When we write something, we have to pay attention about the rules. We have to decide about the topic that we want to write about. Before we start writing we also have to know much about what the topic is. There are so many ways to have a lot of information about the topic. We can read so many books or get information from the internet. It can make our writing more interesting and useful. We can write about everything but we can’t steal the ideas of someone else. There is one thing that must be avoided by the writer. That is plagiarism.
Plagiarism is the incorporation of someone else's work without providing adequate credit (Wikipedia, 2011b). It means that we steal the ideas from someone but we don’t put the source and information of that ideas. It looks like that ideas come from our own mind. It is not allowed when we write something. We can be judged as a plagiatist. We may put the ideas of someone but we must put the source and the information about that ideas too. Cite your sources in the form of an inline citation after the phrase, sentence, or paragraph in question (Wikipedia, 2011b). Bacause of that, the readers who read our writing know that the ideas come from someone else, not from ourselves. It is the way to respect the owner of the ideas. Actually, we want everybody else to respect us too, so that we have to respect the others firstly. We must pay attention about plagiarism more to be a great writer.

Plagiarism is not a crime but is disapproved more on the grounds of moral offence (Wikipedia, 2011a). It means as s writer plagiarism is not allowed. But I often do it when I do my writing assigments. I do plagiarism but I don’t realize that I’m doing it. I often put someone’s ideas in my writing without putting adequate credit. Firstly, I don’t know that it’s not allowed but now I have known it since I study Essay Writing. There are some rules when we are going to use someone’s ideas so that our writing is respected by the readers.
To be a great writer is not an easy thing to do. We have to obey the rules. We have to avoid plagiarism in our writing. If we respect the other’s ideas, others will respect our ideas too. Plagarism is like a crime in writing. There is a way to not be a plagiarist. We just have to put adequate credit of the ideas in our writing. It will not make us look stupid, but it will show how great we are to the readers.
