My First Room In Nangor

I am going to tell you about my favorite place. I have some favorite places but my room is the most favorite place. I will describe how my room is. As a student who study in a university in other city, I have to have a place to stay. I rent a room in a boarding house. My boarding house is in Cisaladah. There are 12 rooms and my room is number 4.

 The lenght of my room is about 4 m and the width is about 3 m. It’s not too big but it’s enough for myself. My room has one door and one window. The wall is yellow but the door and the curtain are green. Actually, I like brown and I don’t like yellow but my mother said that yellow can make my room brighter than brown, so that I choosed yellow for my wall.

There are so many things in my room. In my room there are 1 bed, 1 cupboard, 1 desk, 1 book shelf, 1 lamp desk, 1 television, 1 printer, 1 mirror, 1 dispenser, 1 rice cooker, 1 chair, and 1 carpet. On my bed there are 1 blanket, 2 pillow, 1 bolster, and 2 dolls. My dolls are from my mother. She gave it to me when I was child. I love my dolls because they remaind me to my mother.

I am used to cleaning my room everyday. I sweep the floor and clean the window. Sometimes I am lazy to do it but I have to do it because I do many things there. My activities in my room are studying, my assignments, sleeping, watching television, taking a rest, eating, and ironing my clothes. I also do my duties as moslem in my room.

My friends are used to coming to my room after school. My friends and I do many thing in my room. We do our assignments together there, but sometimes we just watch television or play card. We spend a lot of time together in my room. I’m happy to do that but honestly I hate when they make my room so messy.

My room is the best place for me now. I can do everything which I want there. My room is comfortable. I spend a lot of time there. No one is angry to me when my room is very messy. In my home, my mother used to be angry if my room is messy. In my room, I can watch televison until midnight and no one can disturb me.  If I’m home, my father used to ask me to turn off the television and sleep at 10 pm.

Writing

I don’t really like writing. Writing is one of boring things to do. I’m not excited when I get a assignment to write something from my lecturer. Absolutely I’m too lazy to do my assignment. However, I have to realize that writing is one of my duties as a student of English Department. Because of that, I try to like writing but I find some problems such as about what have to be written.

As a beginner in writing, I’m often confused about what I have to write. I have trouble to decide a topic which will be elaborated. I have to choose an interesting topic for me and for the readers. It spends a lot of time to be found. I can get a topic and the ideas when I’m in a good mood. My around situation is not very important. After I get a good topic, the next problem is finding the first word to start a writing. I have to make sure the words I use are correct. I think it is important to choose the words because the good words can explain my ideas clearly.

When I have trouble in finding words, automatically I have trouble to explain and elaborate my ideas. I have many ideas on my mind but I can’t explain it appropriately. I can’t elaborate my ideas because I don’t have a lot of information. Before I write something down, I know that I have to get a lot of information by reading, but I don’t do that. Finally,  I just repeat my idea in other sentences. Besides that, I don’t know how to deliver my ideas. It’s difficult for me to make the readers understand my ideas. I think I need good vocabularies to make them understand.

I can’t explain my ideas easily because I don’t have many English vocabularies. It makes me difficult to write something. I have to open my dictionary almost all the time. Because it spends a lot of my time, I’m used to using online dictionary. It also makes me confused and sleepy. I think good vocabularies are needed to make a good writing. Because of that, I have to find and choose the right words to represent my ideas. It can make the readers understand what I mean easily.

I think I have to learn more how to make a good writing. I have to know more things about writing. I have to solve my problem in writing immediately. I have to change my opinion about writing. I think if I know how to elaborate my ideas well, writing isn’t a boring thing to do anymore. I also must have more English vocabularies to help myself when I write something so that I don’t have to open my dictionary all the time. I know that  finding a topic isn’t an easy thing to do so I need more information by reading books. I think I will be able to make a good writing if I know how to make it.

JUNE

Welcome to my fool life, JUNE. June is my favourite month ever. June is 6th month of 12 months. It is in the middle. It is not in the start and not in the end. It is time to evaluate ourselves. Take a while to think about yesterday, about the beginning, about the January. Take a moment to think about tomorrow, about the end, about the December. June is about remembering about how I started this year and how I close this year. When June was coming, all my sadness is gone. I wave hello happily to my June. June is another name of happiness. Plagiarism

Writing is one of activities in people’s life nowdays. Writing is the representation of language in a textual medium through the use of a set of signs or symbols (Wikipedia, 2011c). Many people get much money by being a writer. Many successful writers begin their carier in writing from their hobby. Writing is a hobby that can be a job. Many of them have made a lot of great writings. I think it’s not easy to be a great writer and have a lot of masterpieces. It is needed a lot of practices to be a great writer. To be a great writing, we have to obey some rules when we are going to write something.

When we write something, we have to pay attention about the rules. We have to decide about the topic that we want to write about. Before we start writing we also have to know much about what the topic is. There are so many ways to have a lot of information about the topic. We can read so many books or get information from the internet. It can make our writing more interesting and useful. We can write about everything but we can’t steal the ideas of someone else. There is one thing that must be avoided by the writer. That is plagiarism.
Plagiarism is the incorporation of someone else's work without providing adequate credit (Wikipedia, 2011b). It means that we steal the ideas from someone but we don’t put the source and information of that ideas. It looks like that ideas come from our own mind. It is not allowed when we write something. We can be judged as a plagiatist. We may put the ideas of someone but we must put the source and the information about that ideas too. Cite your sources in the form of an inline citation after the phrase, sentence, or paragraph in question (Wikipedia, 2011b). Bacause of that, the readers who read our writing know that the ideas come from someone else, not from ourselves. It is the way to respect the owner of the ideas. Actually, we want everybody else to respect us too, so that we have to respect the others firstly. We must pay attention about plagiarism more to be a great writer.

Plagiarism is not a crime but is disapproved more on the grounds of moral offence (Wikipedia, 2011a). It means as s writer plagiarism is not allowed. But I often do it when I do my writing assigments. I do plagiarism but I don’t realize that I’m doing it. I often put someone’s ideas in my writing without putting adequate credit. Firstly, I don’t know that it’s not allowed but now I have known it since I study Essay Writing. There are some rules when we are going to use someone’s ideas so that our writing is respected by the readers.

To be a great writer is not an easy thing to do. We have to obey the rules. We have to avoid plagiarism in our writing. If we respect the other’s ideas, others will respect our ideas too. Plagarism is like a crime in writing. There is a way to not be a plagiarist. We just have to put adequate credit of the ideas in our writing. It will not make us look stupid, but it will show how great we are to the readers.
